October Reading List

Heyo!

I thought I would do quite a light and short post today because it's a Saturday, and I can't speak for everyone but I for one am pretty busy today! I've done my yoga, showered, had some food and now I'm blogging, but later I'm popping out to see people, then I am heading out to a gig tonight in Bristol! I thought it would be a good opportunity to share with you all what I'm reading this month, but I might later change it to 'Term 1 Reading Schedule', I can't quite decide! People keep asking me what I'm reading at the moment, or if I have any good reads coming up, and because my Summer Reading List post seemed to go down so well I thought this would be of interest to a few of you at least! Some of these are for my course, but I am trying to read things around and outside of my course because otherwise my brain will be boggled and weighed down with such heavy subjects I'll get pretty down and existential, and nobody wants that!

October Reading List (in no particular order!):

Helter Skelter - Vincent Bugliosi with Curt Gentry
IT - Stephen King
East West Street - Phillipe Sands
Stasiland - Anna Funder
The Sellout - Paul Beatty
The Science Fiction of Edgar Allan Poe - Edgar Allan Poe
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson
Candide - Voltaire
The Shining - Stephen King
The Monkey's Paw - W.W Jacobs
The War of the Worlds - H.G.Wells
So You've Been Publicly Shamed - Jon Ronson

*

There is a theme of more horrific/taboo books here, The Monkey's Paw in particular inspired a lot of Stephen King's works, but I think it's pretty apt for the spookiest season of them all! I'll let you know how I get on with some of them in due course I am sure!

Have a great Saturday, go and do stuff, or go ahead and do nothing, it's totally up to you!
