Corsham Court

Heyo!

So, as everyone probably knows by now I am a third year student, and this means one thing, I am about to do the dreaded dissertation! I have already mentioned in previous posts that I am not doing an official or formal dissertation, more an alternative which both I and my supervisor will showcase my abilities in a way a 10,000 word essay on dystopia and utopia in 20th century fiction wouldn't.

This is a campus and it blows my mind how pretty it is!
I went for a dissertation day today at Corsham Court, which is another campus my university have specifically for their postgraduate students. It is very beautiful, and looks like something out of a film (Corsham has been used in several films and TV shows as it is beautiful!) and it even had peacocks! I haven't ever really seen a peacock before just chilling in the wild, so imagine my happiness and shock when I saw a big one jump off a massive wall with my own eyes and go about walking around the grounds.

I am, once again, not really feeling up to much today, so I thought I would talk a little about Corsham and how beautiful it is, and luckily Beth was able to take some pictures, so all of these are thanks to her, go and check her out over on her blog as she's a talented bean with great pictures and even greater words!

I was so worried I wouldn't know anyone, but I was actually really surprised to see some familiar faces there, making me feel a bit better and less anxious about the day. Although a lot of the prep and work for the day wasn't relevant to me, I did find a couple of bits somewhat helpful, and it was good to hear other people at around the same point as me, and some behind, making me feel good about my work so far!

Although the weather was grey, the brightly coloured houses amongst the traditional brickwork added to its charm!
We went to a cute pub called The Royal Oak (we have one in Bath, it's my local pub and I love it as much as their beestings and dogs!) and it had a cat that would sit at the bar, and would do things (with the intention of treats and affection as reward I'm sure!) and just chill. It was such a nice pub, the woman behind the bar didn't mind that we all ordered chips, and the chips were amazing! After a nice pub outing, we went back and finished the day, and were pretty ready to head home because we were all feeling pretty drained from the day. Maybe it was the travelling there and back, or the very long nature of the day, but I was so tired when I came through the door I heated up leftover pasta from Sunday and chilled out for a bit.

The little town felt a lot like Chichester, so I felt like I was almost at home here, and will defo be coming back again soon!
I am knackered, but I feel at least now I know what I am doing is right for me, and in talking about it I feel more confident in my own ability both to get this done, but to get the very best grade possible. Also, peacocks, enough said!
