20 Things I've Learned

Heyo!

I'm getting really stuck in to March and everything it's thrown at me thus far, and I'm really enjoying my courses at the moment. As the month has been going by, I've been thinking about everything I've learnt this month with regards to university work and the dreaded InDesign, and that's had me thinking about how I've been learning so much lately, and what I've learnt over time. I've changed so much in 20 years, and I'm really happy with the progress I've made.

In the last few years I've learnt so much about myself, but then again I have learnt so much since day one, from learning how to put one foot in-front of the other and (hopefully!) not falling over, to learning the value of friendship and family. I thought I would do a post all about the most important things I've learnt in my life thus far, so I can look back if I am ever unsure or become anxious about a scenario or situation, and maybe it'll help someone else, so here it is:

1. Speak your mind

2. Don't try and grow up too fast

3. Embrace your innocence

4. Read everything you can

5. Learn how to cook

6. Socialise even if you don't want to

7. Have hobbies

8. Water is your friend

9. You are never a burden

10. Be comfortable in your own skin

11. Planning is good, spontaneity is better

12. Learn everything you can

13. Don't lock yourself away

14. Eating crap will make you feel like crap

15. Your teachers are often wrong

16. Exams are not important

17. Your friends can be your second family

18. Value your own self-worth

19. Putting yourself before others does not make you a bad person

20. Not being ok is okay

I toyed with the idea of explaining these in detail but I really don't feel the need to, take from this what you will and interpret it however you see fit. These are going to act as reminders to me that I am brilliant, I am strong, I am capable and I can tackle anything thrown at me. This is partially due to the amazing friends and family I have who support me to no end, but because I've learnt these things myself, and often the hard way, and with all of this I can learn even more as time goes by.

I'm so happy with all that I have learnt thus far, and I am grateful that I know it's fine to be myself, because Beckie is pretty cool.

Until next time,
B x
